Just wondering, is there anybody out there who likes the 1990 Berlin Version of The Wall? I don't, but just being curious...

I agree, it sucks. ITAOT is excellent.

Run like hell is so much better off of ITAOT than the studio version, that song was just meant to be played live

I'll be the odd one out and say that I liked the Wall in Berlin. It wasn't as good as the album or ITAOT?, but it wasn't all bad. Not to mention theres video of it, so you can get a small glimpse of what the show looked like back in the day (yes I realize there was a lot of modification, but for us who were around in 1980, this is a boon for us).

OOOHHH...ITAOT...

The Wall as it was meant to be.

Listen to it carefully--all those small touches make a huge difference. The soft yet shimmering clink of the piano in the midst of all that wild noise in "Run Like Hell"...that is genius. A chill up my spine...

And listen to "Goodbye Blue Sky". I cry--because it is as though it takes time to mourn, at the end...maybe to find peace for a moment, somewhere above the clouds.

There are many, many more such moments if you know where to look...or listen.

"Ooooh, baby blue..."

Hear anything there, a new depth?

I agree FloydWaters...a lot of special little extra bits there to pick up on.

But back to topic, there ARE a few bits in the BERLIN concert that I think sound better than any other version. In The Flesh sounds spectacular with the brass bands and choirs backing it...quite amazing really. Um...Nobody Home also sounds better than any other version I've heard.
