Re: Roger Waters new song from that movie...

but really? what did you expect? Its not a floydian song. its a movie song. Waters had to work with the things given to him, which was a pre-made movie. I think it sounds fine for what it is.

I would say that Roger lost the ability/stopped trying to innately connect with his/any audience on a personal level around 1978 frankly.

As long as I'M happy,

Hey, I disagree and so do lots of other people, but that's okay. It sounds pretty good to me, but not particularly memorable like "Beirut" or "Kill the Child" were.

Fair enough, but you might find that there are more people in my camp than yours.

And I'd like to add that nobody would buy the guy's albums if there was no Floyd connection and he'd started his career with whatever his first solo album was. In fact, he'd have been dropped by his record label for his tiny sales and totally dirge-like music that everybody hated. But I imagine that there'd be universal agreement that he was one of the friendliest, most accommodating and least egotistical people that they'd met in a long time.

Re: Roger Waters new song from that movie...

Honestly, in my opinion it may be the 4th best 45 seconds of music by Roger Waters since 1983.

Re: Roger Waters new song from that movie...

It's not half-bad...

Some of the lyrics sounded somewhat familiar, though:

"Hello...is there anybody in there?"

I can't seem to place where I've heard that line before...

Right, but I bet if you weren't so damn charming, and weren't a moderator on this website, and were from Nepal, and had webbed toes, not many people would care about you either. Hypothetically.

Re: Roger Waters new song from that movie...

I like the song. It reminds me of Nick Mason for some reason, and that's nice.

Without Syd and Roger, there would be NO Pink Floyd. They ARE the "connection". If there were no PF then Roger's first album (The Pro's and Con's of Hitchhiking-it is FABULOUS!) wouldn't be. It evolved from Roger's experiences and what he created with PF. Don't make a statement for other people, especially me! Stay out of this forum and stick with Dave's.

If you want to have a good time around these parts you'd best not get pissy with Fixxlevy.
