Irish Pink Floyd cover band

Im going to see it on June 1st. I'll come back to report how it went when I go see it. Tonight a Doors tribute is on which Im seeing. Whats your experiences with cover bands?
This one sounds shit though Im gonna see anyway. They generally tend to do only covers off of Dark Side and the Wall and usually NEVER anything off of Piper.

Cover bands are weak imo, there are better ways to pay tribute to a band that has influenced you, namely making music of one's own.

Usually Id concur but Im just back from it and it was AMAZING.
They had the guitar tone right down to a tee for all the songs, saxaphnoist, visuals ect...a real big effort in comparison to the half arsed tributes Ive seen round here. Too many songs off The Wall though. They played Shine on in full which I was really happy with.

Cover bands do have their place though namingly for bands that are dead or have no chance of reforming *ahem,* a good chance for good anyway.....
And yes, some of us didn't get any Live8 tickets either, nothing beats a good ol' pounding vibration from a loud speaker playing live. Beats listening to Kaiser Chiefs droning about "how everything is average nowadays" on the pub stereo *sigh*
