Re: Remember That Night

Well, however unlikely it is, I sure hope he does record/tour one more time. I really liked On an Island, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy tix the last time around. I saw Roger though. Good show, but I'll always slightly prefer David's work to Roger's. Does anyone know if Richard Wright was on the entire On an Island tour, or did he just show up for European dates?

Rick Wright was on the entire tour. You cannot play Echoes without Rick.

Re: Remember That Night

For what it's worth, thought I'd call in and see what the old crowd thought of the new DVD.

It's now on what the radio stations call "high rotation" in my DVD player, and has been since I got it. Despite the fact that I was actually there (unfortunately not too many audience shots), I think it would have reached a similar status in my collection. An absolutely brilliant DVD.

I need to be in a certain frame of mind to watch the first half, but the second half has replaced pulse as my prefered fix of Pink Floyd music.

As for the 'old crowd response', well anyone with some perspective can see why I don't frequent here nowadays.

Re: Remember That Night

It's a good DVD...I think some mentioned it before - some of the angles are shot with a non-HD camera, and it shows. But BDG's guitar playing is still marvelous...

Great sound and lights - I get mesmerized watching the flashing lights in Echoes - awesome version of that song.

The specials on DVD #2 are nice - it sounds like a nice tour to be a part of.

Glad you are still kickin', Pete! Check in every so often to let us know how things are with you!

Apparently there's going to be a live album now, too.

I heard that, too. The Venice show, apparently.

Excellent. It'll have the version of SOYCD with the water/wine glasses at the beginning.

Nope. It's going to be the Gdansk one.
And I am not enthusiastic for the added orchestra, frankly.

Thanks for the correction, MY...I'm of two minds about the orchestra. On the (+), it will be different than the other sounds (like the DVD). On the (-), it may come across being too mellow.

Absolutely agree. The best ever version. Dave's guitar work is nonpreil.

I was also pleased to see Dave made amends for his "Meltdown" version of Fat Old Sun by FINALLY including the soaring outro solo, which is one of my personal favorite bits in all of Floyd-dom.
