Charles Nelson Reilly, RIP

Charles Nelson Reilly has passed away from complications from pnuemonia, at the age of 76.

He was an interesting guy, and one of the first openly gay actors in television. While mainly known as a professional game show celebrity on Hollywood Squares and Match Game, my favorite of his works were his animation voiceovers dating back to the Flintstones and, most recently, as the Dirty Bubble with Tim Conway and Ernest Borgnine on Spongebob Squarepants. Credits include Car 54 and, most well-known, Love: American Style.

My favorite quote from him went something like "They told me I'd never be allowed on television... What I want to know, is who do I have to f*ck to get off!"

A true television legend, for whatever that is worth. His flamboyance was legendary. May the four winds blow him safely home.

He used to be on a short-lived Saturday morning cartoon, the name of which now escapes me, when I was about 12 or so. My mother thought he was hilarious, but I really had no idea what the big deal was.

What voiceover did he do on the Flintstones? Was it Kazoo?

Rest in Peace, Charles Nelson Reilly.

This stupid version will not allow me to type "R" "I" "P" in capitals; it puts all letters after the first in lowercase.

It had something to do with cats. That's all I can really remember.

You either know too much about Charlie, or have found IMDB.
