this young lady and i will just finish this bottle of WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE Note: I just realized this ok the last verse in the final cut I think has a new meaning and I can't believe I never noticed it before. I'm pretty sure ROger knew this was his last Pink Floyd album so here it is. Ashes(Rick Wright) to diamond (Barrett) foe (Gilmour) and friend (Mason) we were all equal in the end. The Ashes part of course from the Wall gotta grand piano to prop up my mortal remains. Anyone agree?

I get chills when i heard the nuclear bomb go off. I agree, theres so many little sounds and effects that those albums should be listened through headphones.

Headphones or a bloody good stereo. I have a six speaker system and I'll tell ya the sounds are AMAZING when you crank it up. Better than headphones. But back to the Bare's post, you're right dude. There's always another sound that you never heard before, but I prefer WYWH or Animals for that kind of thing. Final Cut is just a little too lacking in the music department in my opinion. And I also agree that Roger can really send some chills down your spine. When he screams "STAY WITH ME" on Pros and Cons, it's hard to tell if he's a psycho bastard or just REALLY REALLY hurting. Very moving stuff.

I personally think some of his best singing on The Final Cut is on the title track. The Gunner's Dream is also very good. I think that vocally, it is Mr. Waters' best album.

| "should we shout..should we scream..what happend..to the post war dream..oh maggie..maggie what have we done?" This line makes me want to cry just singing along with it, or hearing it for that matter. Roger really knows how to put the most depressing and sad sounds into his voice and lyrics. He's singing about things that alot of us dont even understand, but at the same time, we have the same sad feeling just hearing him say them. What a band. Thank the heavens for Pink Floyd. | How about the final line of Hey You. How ironic Roger, you should've practise what you wrote on paper. |

For some reason the line "Jesus, Jesus; what's it all about?!" always catches my attention. This is one of the most emotional albums. A lot of people don't like the Waters Domination era because musically it's not as attractive as Dark Side or WYWH, but I like it because the words have so much complex meaning.

Bare...I'm impressed by your genious analyzation! Hats off to you. ...It's a good theory, but how did you get Nick Mason out of friend? Wasn't Roger thinking about canning Mason while making the wall? http://www.pinkfloydfan.net/walinfo.php OR David Gilmour: "Generally Nick worked hard and played well on The Wall. He even worked out a way of reading music for the drums. But there was one track called Mother which he really didn't get. So I hired Jeff Porcaro to do it. And Roger latched on to this idea, the way he always did with my ideas, and began to think, is Nick really necessary?"

Roger never actually went that far and I doubt he would, as Nick and he had always been very close. This changed, of course, when Nick decided to continue Floyd with David after Roger left the band. Roger felt particularly betrayed by this, as Nick had always been a good friend of his. Of course, we all know Rog and how he tends to fall out of favour with his "friends". _________________ "You hear the night birds calling you, But you can't catch the words they say, Close ears and eyes, Be on your way" -The Narrow Way

After the recent news, Mason as friend makes a lot more sense.

Roger even named Nick the godfather of one of his kids I'm not sure which one. But in the early days Syd and Rick were the smokers and Nick and Roger were the drinkers that was the "division" in the band. That's how the high command took my Daddy from me!

Lyrically, its a good album, musically its as good as any other, just different. Missing that "Floyd sound." It has 2 major flaws. It is too political for my tastes, and the blend of music and lyrics is off. Too many times it is as if Rog is just talking and the music is simply a back drop. Not the right blend, if you catch my drift.
