Being that he's being interviewed for 'Classic Albums: Nevermind by Nirvana' and appeared on the cover as a baby, I'm pretty sure that even subliminally, he'll be aware of the fact that there was a band called Nirvana, who's Nevermind album cover he appeared on (as a baby).

Of course he would have been paid...and his parents have probably spent the lot on that new SUV they've been eyeing greedily.

Alternatively, they might have been good parents and put the money away for the lad to have and use later.
