10,000 Losses!!!

the Philadelphia Phillies, a U.S. baseball team, are approaching 10,000 losses making it the losingist team in sports history having won 1 championship in a 125 years...Bill Conlin, a newspaper writer in Philly, computed they would have 10,000 wins in 2021 at their current rate of futility!!!

Re: 10,000 Losses!!!

I'm mad at Philly - they stole Briere

Then again, Darcy is an idiot - not only did we lose Daniel, we lost Chris too And then the clown tried to act all tough when Edmonton tried to grab Vanek.

Bah! Sorry. Back to discussing baseball....

Rest easy, romo, the Rockies will ecilpse the Phils for ultimate futility. Coors field is a pitcher-killer, and the ROX must play half their games there forever.
I've lobbied for a "designated outfielder" rule to be adapted for games in Denver, (whereas each team would field an extra , non-batting, outfielder)
but my suggestion falls upon deaf ears.

Re: 10,000 Losses!!!

Alright Alright It takes a real Philly Fan(atic) from Philly to add to this post about our baseball teams record 10000 losses. Well they still need one more for the 10000 so lets see how long that takes. Also to blame the current players for past failures is kinda lame. There were 3 or 4 teams in the War years (the 40's) that lost over 100 games a year. Then in the early 60's one team lost a record 25(i think) games in a row. But in the history of the Phillies the low point has to be 1964 when the Phils had a 6-1/2 game lead with 12 games to play to win the pennant and proceeded to lose 10 games in a row and the Pennant. As a kid every year i heard that horror story over and over again. O yeah i wouldn't call being 4-1/2 out of 1st place current futilaty either T.Romo. And Sorry Simon about Briere. Yeah right. Ha Ha.

i like that idea of an extra outfielder, just like slow pitch softball...

does it come with a case of Molsons... Coors after the last out???

Philly has a record that will NEVER be broken...

No matter what, I'll always love the Phils. (But sometimes it's not easy)

After 7 innings, it is 11-1. We'll have to hold off the celebrations till tomorrow

Re: 10,000 Losses!!!

Even with that many losses, I still have more respect for the Phillies than teams like the Yankees or Red Sox, who just try to buy the championship.
