Waiting Tables

Well folks, I got a new job. I worked at Chick Fil A in the mall for 3 years until I quit recently. For those of you who don't know, Chick Fil A is a fast food restaurant that sells chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets, chicken strips, etc. I worked there and eventually became "Team Leader", some form of manager. I was closing the store and counting money and such things and I realized "I've climbed the ladder and there's not much up here".

So I quit and now I work at Carrabba's Italian Grill, waiting tables. So far it's been interesting and the money is much much better.

Anybody here have any experiencing waiting tables? Any good stories? Pointers maybe? or "tips". lolz.

Re: Waiting Tables

No, but congrats, man. I didn't even know if you still worked there or not, let alone that you were pretty much a manager. Good luck with this job.

Re: Waiting Tables

i waited at a place in massachusetts while i was getting my flying "degree", i found that people you never see in there are always ass holes about the food, so help them more, people you see all the time will accept you...but i dont know how big your town is, mine was a small town.

Re: Waiting Tables

I will never, ever work in a restaurant (EDIT: or bar, for that matter). All respect to anyone that has - but damn.

Yeah, agreed.

I just got a job at Whole Foods Market (for those who don't know, it's a rapidly growing grocery store chain from the US that specializes in expensive health food and organics) doing overnight stocking. But before that, you have to work a couple normal days in order to get familiar with the store...let me tell you, it really reminds me of why I applied for that position (trying to help difficult people find the hummus gets old).
