Maybe old Rog didn't want to put the song!

I just felt that it should have been on there, nothing more, nothing less.

Roge said it made the movie drag, and not needed for the narrative. On the DVD you can see it however. But i agree, with CN it's one of the best songs on the album.

I'd rather have them take off Nobody Home than Hey You, yes.

But have you seen the clip for Hey You? It drags on and on and just keeps showing the same few shots over and over.

Nobody Home, never that. That has one of my favorite lines in it, "I've got 13 channel's of shit on the tv to chose from."

The song is good, but the video they had for it wasn't. When making a film, visual qualitys should also be considered occasionally.

I always felt like it belonged in the movie too, until I saw the footage on the DVD. There are a number of scenes in it which really don't relate at all to the rest of the movie. Additionally, the job it does (describing the isolation and madness behind the wall) is already done so well by Is There Anybody Out There?, and Nobody Home. It really wasn't necessary. And most of the footage was spliced into the visuals during the tearing down of the wall anyway.

Re: Hey You

Sorry to re-animate such a dead topic but, I think hey you was a song which would be best suited by Gerald Scarfe's animation.

There is no harm in bringing an old topic back to life!

Re: Hey You

Most of the Scarfe animation was produced specifically for the live show. Unfortunately, the band chose to play behind a completely blank wall with the house lights up for "Hey You"... so as great a song as it is, there's no specific place for it in the linear narrative.
