Beer + Camera crew=Badness.

Me and a couple of my pals were have a quiet afternoon drink(1) in Birmingham(2) city centre on Friday afternoon when we noticed in the corner of the empty-ish pub a film crew with a moderately famous British comedian. We were quite surprised(3) at the comedian and film crew’s presence and began quietly speculating(4) as to why they were there. We continued to enjoy our drink making sure we stayed out of the way of the filming crew although one of us did accidently walk into shot(5).

After a little while the producer(6) came over and introduced himself and asked could they film us and use any footage in a documentary the comedian was making, we cautiously agreed(7). They then proceeded to film us for around 10 minutes while we enjoyed a glass of wine( 8). Then the comedian himself wanted to come over and have a chat with us(9). They filmed me while I exchanged pleasantries with the comic(10) and off they went on their way.

In an emergency summit meeting the next morning me and my two friends agreed not to tell anyone about our brush with fame and just hope that no-one watches the documentary.

I just needed to share this experience please view it as a cautionary tale.

(1)Had just staggered into the fourth pub of the afternoon.

(2)All place names changed.

(3)As stunned and amazed as if a whole host of Hollywood stars were filming the next Bond film in front of us.

(4)Giggling and generally acting as if we were 12 year old Westlife groupies.

(5)Completely ruined a shot as she didn’t realise they were filming and wanted to ask comedian for his autograph.

(6)Some bloke with a clipboard.

(7)Jumped at the chance in the manor of some obese tone deaf X-Factor contestant called Shawanna.

( 8) Laughed raucously swigging down pints of lager.

(9)We asked bloke with clipboard could he ask the poor frightened comic to come and give us his autograph.

(10)Made a complete twat out of myself.

I expect british APPFN members will use this thread to tell us about all documentaries about comedians released in the near future.

You underestimate the sheer volume of documentaries starring comedians on British telly.

Oh and BTWFYI it WASN'T me who went into shot and if you don't believe me you can watch it yourself on channel...... hang on... wait a minute you wont get me that easily!

You know it's really ironic that the first time in 6 months I get drunk a camera turn up asking to film me, normally I wont even consent to having my picture took....

So spill, NNJ, which British comic are we talking about here? I need to know so I don't waste precious time watching other documentaries on any other comics.

Don't you mean Gordo Browneye? And I doubt it's him because he is anything but funny.
