Hi everyone!

I just heard Atom Heart Mother (the track) all the way through, for the first time.I have to say...It Rocked! I love the way they fuse the orchestra with live drumming and bass. That must have taken some time to do! My favourite part has to be after about 1 minute and 25, when you first hear the band kick in. There's so much energy! Well, i've found my new love for a while!

Sam

If is by far the best track on the album. I liked it, but as far as 23 minute songs.. echoes is better. Especialy to 2001.

I love Dave's Lap Steel solo starting @3:56 of track one; then the GREAT solo @10:48 of same track. "Fat Old Sun" outro solo is awesome.

The Sun doesn't care much for it either these days. I think it was heard commenting, "Who are YOU calling fat and old?!" at Gilmour's last solo show. Great song, though.

(Oh, guess you were talking about AHM. It's great too. You're an awful person for believing otherwise.)

Yeah I just recently listened to Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast all the way through. Glad I wasn't tripping. Kind of weird that you can hear him chewing and talking about marmalade. I just wish they'd expanded on the lengths of the three little jam/instrumental bits some more and maybe edited some of the sound effects.

I always have loved Summer 68, such a lovely song. Alans Psychedelic Breakfast is a great little piece too. The whole album is underrated in my mind

Atom Heart Mother was certainly a point of note in the timeline of Pink Floyd. I can listen to that album over and over again. I always find it enjoyable. It is truly a work of art, and full of interesting concepts in music and style.

Yes- if it hadn't happened, then they wouldn't have got it out of their system

Actually the bass and drum track for the AHM Suite were laid down after one very quick take. Nick wasn't that happy with it, feeling that they rushed the whole thing...

Quote:
"'Now I listen to it with acute embarrassment because the backing track was put down by Roger and me, beginning to end, in one pass. Consequently the tempo goes up and down. It was a 20-minute piece and we just staggered through it. "

I found that listening to this album on a walkman, walking down a street, makes this album sound like shit. But, listening to it in-depth on your home stereo is awesome.

Atom Heart Mother Suite: A masterpiece. 23 minutes of pure bliss.

If: One of Roger's best tunes ever

Summer '68: Possibly my favorite Floyd song of all time. Rick Wright was a genius.

Fat Old Sun: A great song by Gilmour, the guitar solo at the end is awesome

Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast: Floyd definitely wasn't afraid of trying new things. It's great when you hear the guy talking( Is that Rick??), and when you can hear him eating cereal & cooking eggs. I think the song is wonderful and very funny.

Atom Heart Mother took me away, its inventive, diverse, and its pf through and through. Atom Heart Mother Suite is a finely crafted piece of music, as fallows the rest to the album.

If-heart felt Waters
Summer 68'-love the concept, hard to think of floyd that way
Fat Old Sun-fell in love with this song at first listen
Alans psychadelic Breakfast-placid arrangement to end the album correctly.

Underrated masterpiece for sure
