talking of 'progressive' Floyds
IMHO 'Shine on you crazy diamond' (all parts together) is a bit better than Echoes; while AHM and ASoS have both a 'weird part' that tempt you to fast-forward it, but are good enough: AHM is almost as good as Echoes and ASoS ends with Celestial Voices, that was my favourite PF for a big while (well, the Ummagumma version at least)

I agree with 'johnnycgoode'. Careful with that axe Eugene is great (either verson). Although 'PearlWaters' makes a great point about going into phases and liking each song depending on your mood. For me, the best songs no matter when and where have to be "Echoes", "CWTAE", and "Dogs". Then again I can make a case for 63 other Floyd songs.

Welcome, The Floyd.

Thought I'd ably nip in in front of the welcome wagon and extend the hand of Floydian Community Friendship. It's a fiesty wee forums board here and we're all pretty forthright in our varying opinions on the true nature of 'The' Floyd (and other stuff).

Glad to have some new blood etc. I think that there's a rules and regulations thread somewhere here.

I've never read it personally, but you might want to.

Paulo's (webmeister) away at the moment and our current moderator, Floydwright's off sunning herself on a rock (probably), so if you've got any questions, feel free to ask either myself or anyone else who's avatar/sense of humour/actual opinions you like.

I second that, and I don't totally hate the 16 min version of Echoes, good enuf for a quick high. Not totally butchered in the Editing process.
