Not really. Make that 21:1 ...no, 22:1 now. Replace "useless posts" with "useless threads."

Its true you go through phases and play certain albums or songs that feel right for that day, or month. That only goes to show how good the entire range is. Echoes is a true classic but for sure depth in lyrics and great music to boot Time is my choice P.S. down to 21:1 Oh and the best track name goes to: Several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a pict 21½:1

And how could we say which posts are 'useless' and which are 'useful'? Whatever... 23:1 now

I'm also of the "too hard to choose" school of thought----however, If I had to "Tom Hanks" it on a desert Island all alone with nothing but 1 PF song and a CD player (+ electricity--it's getting complicated).......I'd choose SOYCD with all 9 parts. Sorry you Echoes folks (and your numbers are legion), but Shine On is the PF masterpiece.

Doesn't anyone like "Bike"? It's just so happy and catchy.... 'Ive got a bike, you can ride it if you like, it's got a basket, a bell, and things to make it look good. I'd loan it to you if I could, but I borrowed it. '

Fulghum: I quite like Bike but it's not my favourite song nor, IMO, the best PF song, and I refuse to answer such a broad, subjective and ultimately useless question. "I've got a cloak, it's a bit of a joke, it has a tear up the front, it's red and black, I've had for (four?) months." 22:1 Last edited by Bride of a Bull; 08-13-2002 at 10:36 AM. |

Hah, Echoes is nothing compared to Vegetable Man. Well, seriously now, Echoes is definitely the greatest song in progressive rock. A perfect collaborative effort between Pink Floyd, and nothing else seems to compete in my opinion. It's in a league of it's own. Well, SOYCD would definitely be my second choice. The reason why is that the vocals just don't seem to flow as well as Echoes. The gilmour/wright combination just sounds alot better than waters, despite the fact that waters still sounded excellent on that track. In addition, I believe that Echoes contains a greater diversity of sounds, and that it provided a greater climax.
