Evel Knievel bites the dust

Evel Knievel has died at age 69. I always figured he really hit the parachute release shortly after launch on purpose over the Snake River canyon when he realised he'd made a metric/english conversion error in his calculations, but wouldn't own up because he was embarrassed over such a silly mistake.

Hope this landing didn't hurt.

RIP, Eve... Finally, the pain is gone buddy.

His wipeout at Caesars Palace remains burned into my brain.

Re: Evel Knievel bites the dust

The guy made something out of nothing. I remember him being somewhat of a big deal growing up in the 70's. I really can't say much other than I would imagine his last 20yrs or more were in pain from all of his gags. It sure is alot harder to do that gig now, with all the dare devils out there now. That was one original guy. RIP........

It appears that the Knievel Khronicles are not quite over.

Re: Evel Knievel bites the dust

Well, I bet the family has most of its money buried in coffee cans. Stuff I read they day he died, some sources said he was broke, others say he had a modest sum, which leads me back to the coffee can deal.
