The mysteries and joys of the 'Search' button!

Many of you will have noticed that when a newcomer appears on the site, I usually give them a hearty welcome and encourage them to have a look at the rules and guidelines. I also ask them to use the 'search' button and thus prevent the Dreaded Duplicate Thread. However as well as preventing a DDT, there is also a mother lode of gems from APFFN's past, lurking away in there. I often stick in the odd random word and see what pops out. Last night I found some classic threads, one of which had the poetry of Gerald the Mouse. Very good it was as well! Another had Bride of a Bull giving vent to his anger about DDT's. Another thread had some fascinating facts about Pink Floyd which, even as a seasoned fan, I was unaware of. It's amazing also to see the names and characters from the past...Pearly Waters where are you? Pictures of Sydney, our Mod in Oz...the lovely Fairjess...a suave looking Botley...I could go on. As I said, It's worth trying the search button just for the hell of it.

Go on...stick something in and see what happens!

Re: The mysteries and joys of the 'Search' button!

Type in the word 'stoned' and see what comes out!

I have now taken my adventures using the 'search' button, to a new level. I stick in a random word and try and get only one thread back...for example...enter the word philanthropist' and back comes a single thread 'PINK F. 30 years of blowing minds' or put in the word 'quince' and back comes a single thread entitled 'Latin'. It's my own version of Googlewhacks. If you don't know what Googlewhacks is, enter Googlewhacks into the Google search engine and you will get the answer.

The amount of times you moan about DDTs on other threads, surely you've must have created another with this one

I'm not moaning about DDT's. I'm merely trying to heighten awareness of the mysteries and joys of using the search button. Bags of fun for all the family.
