I think that Tool is like Pink Floyd in this respect, Neither one cares much about singles or grammies, and treats music on a totally artistic, rather than popular, perspective. Otherwise the 2 are nothing alike. By the way, I love Tool, just not as much as pre-Wall Floyd.

I bought the 'Lateralus' CD recently and have to admit, it's pretty bloody good. Apparently, it's not actually one of their better albums, either...

tool is amazing. radiohead is also very much like pink floyd in ways.
However. the floyd are still around. so technically they are still the pink floyd of today

I couldn't agree more.....I LOVE Tool and they're practically the only American band worth listening to today (Though there might be a few I'm forgeting). Ya, and everyone says Radiohead is the new Pink Floyd but i have to disagree cus Tool sounds so much more Floyd than Radiohead. The Lateralus CD is a must have for any of you who are willing to give metal a chance.

by the way, does anyone know if maynards scream on "the grudge" was real or with the help of studio magic cus I've tried doing it in my car (alone may I add making sure no one was watching) and i can barely get through about 1/2 of it
