Re: TOOL

Anyone here like tool? I refer to tool as the Pink Floyd of today. Any comments?

Re: TOOL

Yeah I like tool, although I'm not into hard metal rock much at all. They don't sound at all alike in my opinion, but if you compare Tool to all those rap-metal bands of today, I guess there creatively weird enough to be called a Pink Floyd...

I've also noticed that some people have said that Radiohead sounds like Pink Floyd, while others have said it sounds like Tool. Both people are compeletly wrong, but all three bands are creatively weird...

Re: TOOL

After seeing the new TOOL video I can honestly say that they are comparable to Pink Floyd... in they're own conceptual way that is.

They are one of my next favorite bands after Pink Floyd.

Re: TOOL

Tool is THE greatest band around today. They have been good at their music since their first album, Opiate, but have positivly progressed into a genius of a band. Enchanting music mixed with lyrical styling that is unsurpassed and cannot be replicated.
I would compare them to a metal-edge modern-day Pink Floyd anyday. These are the only 2 bands that actually put poetry and emotional style and sound into their every song. Hooray for Tool! I like A Perfect Circle too, Tool's singer's side project. They are very good and have very deep emotions in their lyrics and music, but I'd have to pick Tool over them any day. Im just old school. Later.

Re: TOOL

Die Eier von Satan

Eine halbe Tasse Staubzucker
Ein Viertel Teelöffel Salz
Eine Messerspitze türkisches Haschisch
Ein halbes Pfund Butter
Ein Teelöffel Vanillenzucker
Ein halbes Pfund Mehl
Einhundertfünfzig Gramm gemahlene Nüsse
Ein wenig extra Staubzucker
... und keine Eier

In eine Schüssel geben
Butter einrühren
Gemahlene Nüsse zugeben und
Den Teig verkneten

Augenballgroße Stücke vom Teig formen
Im Staubzucker wälzen und
Sagt die Zauberwörter
Simsalbimbamba Saladu Saladim

Auf ein gefettetes Backblech legen und
Bei zweihundert Grad für fünfzehn Minuten backen und
KEINE EIER

Bei zweihundert Grad für fünfzehn Minuten backen und
Keine Eier ..

song really opened my eyes.

Re: TOOL

The fact that I can only speak one language!!!

Apparently the dude (sorry, I don't really know them) from tool said he was a rather large fan of Pink Floyd.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Re: TOOL

To what? I dunno specifically. I used to be a really closed minded christian.

When I heard that song I was sure it was a call to mass genocide or something truely evil. When I found out what it really was I realized what they had done, the had prayed on the misinformed and racist misconception of many americans that germans are all evil nazis. Now, I didn't think that, but nevertheless, via the language and tone of voice, it certainly brought out those ideas. That's when I really feel in love with tool.

I guess that song and event just exemplifies that change in me.

Re: TOOL

i don't really like them too much. i saw them when they played with king crimson. i liked king crimson more but then again i was already a fan. and i have to kind of disagree with whoever said they were comparable to pink floyd. i don't see any comparisons to make.

Re: TOOL

Well, they are not Floyd sounding or anything. I think by being Floyd-like people mean in a creativity sort of way. Tool is better than most bands out there.
