They used a VCS3 synthesizer for DSOTM. If you have Live at Pompeii you can see a few clips of Roger fooling around with it.

Only the EMS VCS3 (and its companion Synthi-AKS sequencer, which is what Roger plays in "On the Run") was used on Dark Side; they didn't start using Minimoogs until Wish You Were Here.

Yes, that's a Rhodes. There are also real bells on "Brain Damage" (doubling the guitar riff during the bridge).

The discussion about who plays the Synthi-AKS in "On the Run" is part of the neverending Gilmour vs. Waters debate. Gilmour says Roger came up with the sequence used in the song, but the actual performing was done by Gilmour, and the parts wich is filmed by Adrian Maben is Waters pretending doing the piece. Waters says the Maben was filming when the piece was made. I'm not going to make the call.

Re: Sythesizers Used in The Dark Side of the Moon

Whether the bit Roger is overdubbing in Pompeii is on the album is questionable, but he certainly did program the main part (which Gilmour did manipulate during recording).
