Beyond The Darkside ~ Ozzie PF Tribute Band

Beyond The Darkside is yet another tribute group. This band will be in my burg on May 10th at AU$120 a pop. The Brizvegas show was a complete flop by all acounts, and I can't find any feedback from the Hobart gig two weeks ago.

Anyone seen them before?

Re: Beyond The Darkside ~ Ozzie PF Tribute Band

Hi Skinny

I have seen this show over many years. I was also at the show in Brisbane which you reffered to as a flop. Some people over reacted. From what i understand as i stayed till the end and spoke to some of the band it really wasn't there fault. Although the show did start late and a little shaky it did pick up by the second half. The show runs for over three hours. Personaly this show has always more than delivered its moneys worth and it certainly was not as bad some people made out that night. In fact it was probably certain drunks in the crowd that spoilt the night more than the bands problems.
As far as I Know the Hobart show knocked the crowd dead. I have heard from a freind of mine in Hobart who went to see the show it was the best thing he had ever seen and the house gave a standing ovation. I have heard many opions of other people statements about who is the best Pink Floyd show out there, My opion is Beyond The Darkside is the best i have ever seen here in Brisbane. I saw the Pink Floyd experience twice here and i have to say they are not in Beyond The Darksides league. I do understand the last Qpac show was by no means there best performance but i have to say we all have our off days. I have seen this band play many times since i frist discovered them back in 1994.
I have always stopped behind after the show to oftern talk to some of the band members and even though i have only managed to talk to Kevin a couple of times i do understand these guys give it there all and it is not about money to them. They have a true passion like me for Pink Floyd music and more so for what they are as entertainers which is why they have grown to such a large production from which i understand is because all the money they ever make goes back into the show.
I give them 10/10 for there efforts and i have to say i wish there were more people/ bands out there trying as passionately as them to deliver what they do.
I have been fortunate to see Pink Floyd Twice and Roger Waters on his last tour and have to say all shows have left me in awe, bar the show of rogers i saw in Melbourne where the sound was terrible. i managed to see the same show in Brisbane which was brilliant. Just goes to show even the real thing have there bad nights. I am so glad i dont judge every performance the way certain people react on a off night as it would have prevented me seeing Roger in Brisbane on a great night. Beyond The Darkside is the closest thing i have seen to the real thing.
I truely feel any Pink Floyd fan should give these guys a go as they are turely value for money. I am thinking myself of making the trip to Adelaide to see them as i have freinds in Adelaide.
