Red face A little more than just lyrics

So I've been listening to the Floyd for a long time on and off. They helped through some really rough times and decorated some of the best times.

After 2 years locked in a studio with a buddy of mine, we finished this.

Parts of it you can totally tell I grew up listening to Rog talk about his dad, and other parts sound nothing like the Floyd. Yeah, we're trying to sell albums, but really, we just want people to hear it. So you can hear everything but the last song in reverse of the order it apears on the record (yknow... to not really give away the continuity/storylline) for free on the main page of the website... It's still pretty bare bones, and probably will be till after finals when we have some more cashmonies to pay someone to maintain it a bit. If you want, you can buy the album, and it comes with a sweet little 18 page pdf with all kinds of nifty pictures and whatnot.

I'd love to hear what you think... Whatever it is you do think of it... I'm pretty proud of it. Enjoy.

Re: A little more than just lyrics

First song starts off sounding like Floyd and then Mars Volta. After that the vocals are mixed too loud and sound a little like weird Al. Take the vocals down a bit and add reverb and it might have a nicer effect. I dig the instrumental sections. The chord progression really reminds me of the mars volta but that's alright. The guitar should have more mids and lows. It's a little thin. I like the noisy stuff at the end. That's one of those things I've always been a fan of (things breaking down and falling apart).

That's what I think of the first song. I'll listen to more and get back with you. Sounds good so far. Good work.

Re: A little more than just lyrics

Two years in studio for that??? Whoever did the mixdown and final levels....I'd get my money back..

OK overall for a H.S. garage band..
