Recreated doesn't mean original.
To a good level doesn't mean as good as or better than.
It can be argued does not mean fact. Never heard of Devil's Advocate?
I am the muthaFuk'n Devil. Floyd is the prerequisite. Let none tamper.

Look, Cows, I like you. No need to get all pissy. Just post in my Grantchester thread on the "After Syd" forum.

I know Stratters is untouchable on this site, but he seems reasonable enough to recognise that this is a very tired remark.
Of course it's a tired remark. Every jot and tittle about Roger v. Dave has been hashed and rehashed to ad nauseum on this site over the past years. Nothing anybody says is going to be that original anymore.

Cows was right. I was making an analogy to the human body, my point being, that a human body works best when it has BOTH a brain and a heart.

Untouchable?

Ah So, Chairman Miao.
In spirit of cummunist botherhood, shall we not comment on Floyd like brothers and consider the many ways to attain Accuracy?

I say Rog has both brains and enough heart to carry off a legitmate performance of the Dark Side without his compatriots. They, likewise, may do justice to the aforementioned material. Either master may build a body about either the heart or brain, but the brain may build a heart too.

I would not argue with your glorious observations, comrade skinny.
When either the brain or heart surround themselves with fellow traveller musicans sharing the communal spirit of progressive selflessness, wonderful fauxFloyd is produced for the prolatariat.

Re: Roger Waters set slammed by Death Cab

Roger has every right to sing his songs, but he just can't do them as well as he used to be able to. A few of the songs he was just mouthing the words along with a previous recording. His show was fun and entertaining, but at the end of the day it was basically karaoke. His lackluster band failed to stir up the crowd much at all.

Dave and Rick sounded like Pink Floyd because, well, they are the sound of the band. They weren't trying to make any political statements or anything of the sort, they cared about the music and what it felt like to the audience. The crowd was much more enthusiastic and much more satisfied after the show. Great music will resonate with you on a deep level, which is the way Dave's show went.

Songs like Money, Comfortable Numb, Wish You Were Here, etc are not close to as good sung by anyone other the David Gilmour.

I would rather listen to Roger lip synch or hire other people to sing the songs than listen to Rick and Dave trying to hit notes they haven't been able to hit in 20 years...

I see you didn't go to one of Dave's shows, he still can do wonders on stage.

Re: Roger Waters set slammed by Death Cab

I want to see them ALL onstage performing Dark Side, but one out of four is better than none.

Dark Side was a wayyyy more collaborative effort than Sgt. Pepper's (which is essentially the first Wings album, with some other Beatles' songs thrown in).
