Re: R.I.P. Bo Diddley

Damn, I came close to seeing him in concert last year only to hear of the gig being canceled due to his health problems. It's very sad to see Bo go -- he will always be one of the true legends; hell, he influenced an entire generation of legendary music-makers. Bompa bompa bomp, ba-bomp bomp!

Re: R.I.P. Bo Diddley

Damn.. Bo was great. I was lucky enough to have met Bo, a man who's heart was a big as the man himself. He stood 6'3" and most likely tipped the scales at 260+ when I met him.. a big fella. But you couldn't have asked for a nicer man, he was friendly, gracious and playful. He was "chased around the table' by my then three year old son, both laughing loudly the whole time. I only got to spend about thirty minutes with the man, the myth, the legend that is Bo Diddly, but I'll treasure that half hour forever. I got to sit in wings backstage during his set, he was just amazing. His fingers smothered the fretboard, but moved over it with grace.

Bo, you will be missed buddy.

Saw the great man when he visited Aberdeen 20+ years ago. Excellent gutarist who was supported by some very talented musicians. I shared a few beers with the band afterwards, but unfortunately never got to meet Bo himself.

Re: R.I.P. Bo Diddley

RIP Bo
I saw him years ago at an all day festival somewhere I can't seem to remember where or with who.
A friend of mine also seen him at a small club and my friend was dancin' up a storm with his women at the front of the stage so much so that after the set Bo seeked my friend out to tell him he was the best white dancer he ever seen.
That is a true story
