Re: What is "Rick's Turkish Delight"?

I understand this is some kind of musical sequence he used to play a lot in the early days...why is it called that? Also, can anyone point out an example of "Rick's Turkish Delight" in any studio tracks?

It's on Arnold Layne and Candy & A Currant Bun. Pretty much the same little diddy.

Re: What is "Rick's Turkish Delight"?

That's what I was wondering if it was--but I wasn't sure. Not to sound stupid...but is that indeed the tune that the band used to tease him for?

It doesn't sound bad at all, of course! But those two sure DO sound similar!

I'm not sure if the band teased him or it was just other people.

Re: What is "Rick's Turkish Delight"?

I'd have to reread Schaffner to be sure of that. But that's where I first heard the phrase.

Re: What is "Rick's Turkish Delight"?

I think it's some sort of candy or something sweet. But don't quote me on that.

Turkish Delight:

"The original treat westerners call Turkish Delight is a type of candy made with cornstarch, syrup, flavoring and various other ingredients such as nuts and dried fruits. It was created by an Ottoman chef anxious to please the reigning Sultan."

Man, you're a regular fountain of information. Tell me, do you speak to Bride of a Bull much. You two would get along great.

I haven't seen Bride of a Bull on here for a while now, but I'll tell him you asked after him when I see him again.

"I am you, and what you see is me."

Re: What is "Rick's Turkish Delight"?

Hmm--Turkish Delight...sounds good!

(This is supposed to be the look of someone licking their lips in anticipation of good food!)

And "RICK'S Turkish Delight"--it's not a bad little riff, either!

I think I ate some of that. I'm not sure, but I think I did and was VERY sweet. Whatever that was.

Re: What is "Rick's Turkish Delight"?

Hang on. I go away for a very little while and someone is already trying to usurp me as fountain of pointless information.

Usurper! USURPER!
