Wot's............uh The Deal?

Would you like to sing and/or play your favourite track on a tribute album to Pink Floyd.


The album will be produced by myself and Mark Gamble and will have complete professional orchestration, mastering etc and we will have the final say. Sorry!

Recording will take place in Nottingham on Pro-Tools equipment and the privilidge will only cost *£50.00 which will be put towards the studio costs only. The studio normally charges £125 per day so what you are doing is paying for yourself to take part and your part "in the mix", so to speak!

Nothing else.

Unless of course you want to buy yourself lunch.

My view is that we make the ultimate cover album and that it comes from the real fans and not from the wannabees and the band-wagon jumpers. So yes, there will be auditions. This is the Floyd album for Floyd people and a chance to let out those emotions you've been wanting to let out for years.

Ultimately, I would like the finished product to reach Pink Floyd as a thank you for giving us so much musical pleasure (and heartache) over the years. Furthermore, any money that we make from this, I say we should donate to David Gilmour's Charity CRISIS of which he is Vice Chairman.

So what do you say?

My project is in the planning stage only right now and I am open to suggestions for what songs we choose. Should we take a vote on that? I am hoping to begin recording the project by mid-September 2008, which is a tentative date, again, at this stage.

Our album will reach a high profile level of publicity (hopefully), so if you are one of those people who hide in the darkness then this project is not for you. I am hoping to get all kinds of media involved.

Hi, well the project won't be taking off until mid-September, so maybe you could get the cash together by then.

Send me an email telling me what you would like to do and your favourite Floyd track or any Floyd track that you would like to play on. I am making a list of the songs the people want, so do get involved cosd it'll be a fantastic experience. Also tell all the people you know about it, but numbers are limited to 50...or so.

I promise to not take any money from anyone until we are about to go in the studio, so its a long way off.

Hi Wizzifloyd, welcome along to the site. There is a section ( Welcome to the Machine) where you can introduce yourself and it's usually at that point we ask people to read the rules and guidelines. Contained within the rules and guidelines it mentions that self-promotion (asking for cash) is not allowed. So unfortunately I will need to close the thread. I would also advise that you don't put your email address up for grabs as you will get all sorts of spam being sent to you and all sorts of nutters writing to you.There are a number of moderators round about the site and if you need any help don't hesitate to shout.
